Jack Grealish shaves off his trademark long hair leaving fans devastated
Jack Grealish has caused upset among his fanbase – but cutting off his trademark boyband style hair.
The 26-year-old Manchester City player has built up a following thanks to his cheeky, boyish looks and impressive hairstyle as much as for his goal scoring football skills.
But for some fans, the lust and admiration may be coming to an abrupt end as he has sat down in a barber’s chair at the end of the week to get a brand new look.
Jack took to Instagram on Friday to reveal he had visited A Star Barbers in Manchester where he took a seat in a chair and a hairdresser took a pair of clippers to his locks.
Footage shared by the star showed him smiling in approval as he sat getting his hair buzzed off – with barber Ahmed Alsanawi raising a peace sign in approval at his own work.
Footage was shared by Jack via his Instagram Stories and by Ahmed via his own main feed along with a simple peace hand sign emoji – with the football star looking pretty pleased with the final result.
The reaction from fans, however, was a mix of devastation and outright disgust.

One distraught fan responded to the video of Jack’s new look, writing: “No, they ruined it!”
Another took issue with the work of the barber, writing: “bro whats he done to him man.”
A third despairing fan commented: “Where his hair gone” alongside crying face emojis.
While another branded the new look: “The worst haircut in history” – and other fans used more ‘colourful’ language to give their opinion on the footballer’s new do.
However, there were some fans among those commenting – with one writing: “Looking sharp squire,” alongside some applauding hand emojis.
Jack, who used to sport curtains style long hair, has previously gushed about his appreciation for a hair product called Moroccanoil – which costs £32.85 per bottle.
The star drew attention during the 2020 Euro Cup games last summer where many fans were drawn to his long hair which he often kept out of his eyes while on the pitch thanks to a trusty alice band.
He shared some of the secrets of his hair care routine last July, explaining he ultimately uses three different products – including Moroccanoil’s Treatment Original, priced at £32.85 from LookFantastic.
He said during a podcast that he starts off his routine with “a little shampoo and conditioner”, to which he leaves the conditioner on for a “few minutes”.
Whilst his hair is a “little bit wet” he’ll put some of the Moroccanoil in, dry it, styling it with a hairbrush as he goes - to which he reenacts the motion as he styles his “trim and that”.
The Aston Villa captain will then put some “hair bonding in it, like a wax to style it”.
And he explained that he finishes his look with the Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Spray hairspray, priced at £3, “to hold it”.
